Information for Authors

The Atlantic Journal of Life Sciences is dedicated to publishing high-quality research across the diverse fields of life sciences. Our goal is to provide a comprehensive platform for scientists, researchers, and academics to disseminate innovative research findings and ideas. We emphasize thorough experimental reporting to ensure that results are reproducible and transparent. There are no length restrictions on submissions, allowing detailed and complete presentations of research.

Review Policy

Peer Review Process

  • All submissions undergo a stringent peer-review process by experts recommended by our editorial board.

  • Manuscripts must not be under consideration by other journals simultaneously.

  • All manuscripts are treated confidentially, and reviewers and editors must disclose any conflicts of interest.

  • Editors-in-Chief make final decisions based on referee reports, and rejected authors are informed promptly.

  • The peer review process is intended to be transparent, fair, and focused on high-quality publication.

Publication Procedure

Initial Checks

  • Submissions are initially reviewed by the Editor-in-Chief for compliance with author guidelines and ethical policies.

  • Manuscripts are assessed for alignment with the journal scope in consultation with the editorial board.

Peer Review

  • Manuscripts that pass initial checks are sent for double-blind peer review by at least two independent experts.

  • Reviewers evaluate scientific validity, relevance, and originality.

Editorial Decision and Revision

  • Accepted manuscripts may require minor or major revisions.

  • Authors receive detailed feedback and are expected to respond point-by-point.

  • Editorial decisions may include acceptance, minor revisions, major revisions, rejection with encouragement to resubmit, or outright rejection.

Author Appeals

Authors may appeal rejection decisions by providing detailed justifications and point-by-point responses to reviewer comments. Appeals are reviewed by the Editorial Board.

Publication Ethics

AJLS adheres to the highest standards of publication ethics and follows the Code of Conduct and Best-Practice Guidelines for Journal Editors.

Editors

  • Editors make decisions based on importance, originality, clarity, and adherence to ethical standards.
  • Editors maintain confidentiality throughout the editorial process.

Reviewers

  • Reviewers are expected to provide objective, constructive, and prompt assessments.
  • Reviewer comments contribute directly to editorial decisions.

Authors

  • Authors must present accurate accounts of research, avoid plagiarism, and disclose conflicts of interest.
  • Authors are expected to promptly notify the journal of significant errors in published work.

License Agreement

Authors submitting to AJLS certify the originality of their work and grant the journal the right to publish under the Creative Commons Attribution-NonCommercial 4.0 International License. Data included in accepted articles is made available under the Creative Commons 1.0 Public Domain Dedication waiver unless stated otherwise.

Plagiarism Policy

  • Plagiarism in any form is considered scientific misconduct.

  • Cases of direct or mosaic plagiarism are addressed by informing the relevant editors and publishers.

  • The policy emphasizes reporting concerns, supplying supporting evidence, and conducting disciplinary review where necessary.

Policies on Conflict of Interest, Human Rights, and Animal Rights

Human and Animal Rights

Researchers must conduct studies within an appropriate ethical framework. AJLS may reject manuscripts or contact authors' institutions or ethics committees if ethical concerns arise.

Informed Consent

Research involving human subjects must comply with the Declaration of Helsinki and receive ethics committee approval. Informed consent for publication of details, images, or videos must be obtained and specified in the manuscript.

Conflict of Interest

Authors must disclose all sources of financial support and any potential conflicts of interest. Ethical advertising practices are emphasized, and certain types of advertisements are prohibited.

  • Researchers must conduct studies within an appropriate ethical framework.

  • AJLS may reject manuscripts or contact institutions or ethics committees if ethical concerns arise.

Article Processing Charge (APC)

The publication of papers in the Atlantic Journal of Life Sciences is free of cost and does not charge authors any fee for submitting and publishing their manuscripts. We believe in open access to research and provide all published content to the global scientific community without financial barriers.
